This blog post is well overdue but is still largely important regardless of timing. You ready?
A couple of my best friends got married! Back in 2015, Matt and Blake got married in a really rad venue in Los Angeles called SmogShoppe and I (for once) was able to actually attend as a guest and NOT as a photographer. The ceremony/reception venue was incredibly gorgeous, with rustic wood tables and linens and walls covered in ivy. A dear friend of mine Lam Nguyen (also known as @thevacantroom on Instagram) was the official wedding photographer for the day and did an INCREDIBLE job. He shot throughout the getting ready moments, the formal photos, ceremony, and reception hour and handed all the raw photos to the bride and groom to keep, edit, and store as happy memories.
Fast forward two and a half years and the couple had not gotten around to editing or even LOOKING at their photos. Seriously, it had been two and and a half years since their wedding and they had never even looked at the memories from the incredible day. Blake reached out to me to see if I would be willing to edit the wedding photos as a gift for Matt and of course I ugly cried a little and accepted the job graciously.
As part of the gift, Blake asked me to edit the photos AND design an entire wedding album for them to physically go through together. She bought a beautiful classic photo album and had it shipped to me, and then the fun began.
Here are some of my favorite photos of just the couple.
*insert ugly cries here*
Here are some of my favorites of the ceremony.
I feel so lucky to have been part of this special day as a guest, and also get to work some behind the scenes magic with the photos for the day. The images turned out beautiful, and the album even more so. Once I get some photos from Blake of the actual album, I'll post an update.
In the meantime, here is a selfie of me, Blake, Matt, my boyfriend Jeff, and the photographer Lam the day of!
