So, months ago I accidentally started a mini series portraying each of the 4 elements. I say accidentally because the first image I shot was intended to be something TOTALLY different, and turned into a beautiful fiery image that left me too excited not to work on the others.
Earth was actually the second image I shot in the series, but was probably the most fun to shoot out of them all. I got to dig around in the mud in my back yard, play with earth worms, and let my hair go full crazy. woo!
Like most shoots I do, I decided to do two different takes on each image. For Earth they ended up being VERY different types of images. Here is the first:
I loved the idea of representing earth by almost being apart of the earth. Someone embedded in the ground and being surrounded by dirt and grass. Unfortunately after it was all said and done, I didn't like the overall feeling of the image. It felt somber and almost death-like, so I ended up going with the following image.
This image felt a little more playful, which is overall (unknowingly) what I really wanted to aim for. To me this feels like someone who is one with the earth and all of it's creatures. :)
So there you have it! The first published elements mini series photo: EARTH.
